If you’re reading this blog, chances are high that you booked an AC service & repair from Cooling Care.
Here’s what you should know (and do) when our technician arrives at your doorstep.
- Check the professional’s identity: AC repair is a skilled job conducted only by professionals trained about the standard procedures for safety. This ensures a safe and effective service. So, verify the identity of the AC technician at your home by matching it with the technician’s photo on the WhatsApp Which We Sent.
- Maintain a safe distance: Ensure that you and your family are at a safe distance during the AC repair service, especially if it involves gas charging. Your AC has inflammable components that can potentially catch fire.
During the service or repair of your AC, the technician may recommend a gas refill for your AC.
What is a gas refill? Well, read on.
What Many Customers Don’t Know About Gas ‘Top-Ups’
Most customers aren’t aware of the fact that the gas in your AC is supposed to last its entire lifetime. Conversely, you don’t have to get a gas top-up periodically. Low levels of gas are due to leaks in the AC; leaks that need to be repaired before refilling.
In case our technician detects leakage in your AC, here’s what happens next.
What Happens When Your AC Needs a Gas Recharge
Step #1. Your AC Technician Will Refill the Gas, Not His Helper
In case your AC technician detects low gas levels and a leak, he will notify you about it. He will also notify the Cooling Care team through the app that your AC needs a gas refill. He will then refill the gas himself.
Note: In case the AC technician is accompanied by his assistant, ensure that the latter is not carrying out the gas refill as he is not trained to do so.
Step #2. Keep Yourself Safe During the Gas Recharge
While the Cooling Care professional refills gas and finishes the repairs on the AC that needs a refill, here’s what should you do to stay safe:
- Inform about previous repairs on AC: If any AC repair work has happened in the last few days, please inform the Cooling Care professional to ensure continuity of work. It helps in delivering a safe AC repair service.
- Unplug power supply: Ensure that the main power supply remains unplugged during gas charging, even if the professional leaves the place for a short period of time to purchase spare parts. If the AC is switched on, it can lead to accidents.
- Maintain a safe distance: Make sure that neither you nor any other family member is near the AC when gas charging is being done.
- Ensure gas charging is done outdoors: Gas charging should never be done indoors.
- Emergency Helpline: Contact the Cooling Care emergency helpline if you face an issue during your service delivery.
